Greater Houston Fair Housing Center

The Greater Houston Fair Housing Center, Inc., was founded in 1999 by a group of concerned attorneys and community activists. The agency was set up as a new group utilizing HUD Fair Housing Initiatives Program funds with the assistance of the National Fair Housing Alliance. The Center is committed to educating housing consumers and providers. The Center works to uphold Fair Housing law through investigation and enforcement.

City of Houston Housing and Community Development

The City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department offers a free information hotline for tenants and landlords.  Information available may include explanations of applicable laws, procedure for legal options available to tenants and landlords and referrals to other agencies.  Services are provided in English and Spanish (and other languages upon request.) Available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
